EVERLAST is an online sustainable fashion campaign
challenging content creators to mindfully and
creatively explore the value of clothes.
It is open to any Filipino who is passionate about sustainable fashion and has a Facebook, Instagram and/or Tiktok account to post their entries to! English and Filipino entries are welcome to participate in our contest.
You can collaborate with another person to make your entry, or make your work individually!
Contest period
The contest entry period will be from March 24 to April 12. We will keep track of entries until the deadline April 12, 11:59 PM and accept no entries after that point. We’ll announce our winners on April 19!
Tracking entries
We’ll keep track of entries that tag the FASH account (Facebook: @ateneoFASH; Instagram/Tiktok: @weare_fash) and use the tag #WeAreEverlast in its caption. Please remember to keep your account and the post itself public so that we can actually view it!
You can post the same output on both platforms, but it will only be counted as one (1) entry.
Accepted submission formats
We will accept either a one-minute video from you or a captioned photo post (130-150 words long) on how you think sustainable fashion is linked to any social issue. You can submit multiple entries to our contest (i.e. one video and one essay), but they will be graded individually.
Example topics you can explore are:
Environmental sustainability; clothes disposal
Economic systems; consumerist society, worker exploitation
Androgyny in sustainable fashion
We do not prefer one type of post over the other, so pick the entry format you can express yourself better in! You can also choose to upload your entry through either Instagram reels, Instagram, or Facebook.
Short-form video
Keep the video to one (1) minute maximum. We will disqualify entries that go over this limit.
You can use any editing software (including the built-in editor of Tiktok) to edit your videos.
Talk to us! You cannot use the auto-speech feature of Tiktok to narrate your video. Instead, you should make a voiceover of your video.
You can use footage from outside sources like news videos and blogs, but you need to credit the original creators of the clips in the caption of your posts!
You can also use self-made footage!
We don’t require you to show yourself at any point in the video.
Photo essay
Take your own photographs, any dimensions as long as it fits within Facebook and/or IG sizes. You can post anywhere from one (1) to five (5) photos! We don’t require any of these photos to include people.
Write a 130-150 word maximum caption about the relation of the contents of the photograph(s) to yourself and the prompt.
We accept the following:
Photos that depict the prompt, like photographs of a loom
Art pieces that symbolize the social issue you’re talking about
Collages of news photos (with original creator credited in post caption)
Instant disqualification
We will not judge your submission if you do any of the following:
Engage in hate speech or misinformation.
Explicitly promote any political candidate in the video.
Show explicit content.
Plagiarize content and do not cite sources.
Pass the time limit for videos or word count for photo essays.
